Science Technology Engineering the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education has become a national focus within the curriculum. At Wirrabirra Education Support Centre we have weekly STEAM lessons which incorporate all students needs and interests. We strive to improve students STEAM education by incorporating a variety of components including woodwork, bee-bots, electronics, and design. STEAM allows our students to experience the healthy approach of good old fashioned ‘making and doing’ to learn. STEAM is about new and emerging ways of learning. Currently STEAM is taught in multi-age ability groups where students are learning one topic per term. The areas we focus on are Robotics, Woodwork, Circuits and Construction.
